Julia O’Connor
Preschool Lead Teacher
Julia is from Connecticut, and graduated from the Boston University School of Education in 2016. Her bachelor’s degree is in Early Childhood Education, which paired well with her work-study placement at the Boston University Children’s Center. Having fouor years at the BUCC solidified Julia’s desire to work with young children and fostered a love of preschool. After graduating, Julia worked as a Special Education Aid, a Preschool Teacher, and a Behavior Therapist. Most recently, she was working as a Preschool Lead Teacher at King Open Preschool in Cambridge MA.
Julia discovered her love of early education when she was in high school. She would volunteer at the kindergarten classroom where her mom worked and couldn’t believe how much the children grew and changed throughout the year. Supporting children with emotional regulation and fostering independence is one of her passions as a teacher. Preschool is the perfect time to foster a love of learning, and nothing is better than learning new things with the children!
Outside of the classroom Julia enjoys reading fantasy stories and cooking new foods. Currently, she is working her way through a new cookbook, “Cook Korean!”. She also enjoys traveling to visit her family in Brazil and Norway!
