Irmak Sagmanli
Preschool Lead Teacher
Irmak was born in Florida and grew up in Istanbul, Turkey. She graduated from Boston University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a minor in Emotional & Behavioral Challenges in Schools. She developed an interest in Early Childhood Education and wanted to learn more about teaching diverse learners. Irmak continued her education at Boston University and received a Master’s Degree in Special Education. Throughout her time at BU, Irmak enjoyed working as an Assistant Teacher at BUCC. As a result, she decided to begin her teaching journey at BUCC!
Over the past few years, Irmak gained experience at public and private schools, working with students ranging from infants to first grade. She greatly appreciates watching students develop not only as learners but also as individuals. As a teacher, Irmak strongly believes in fostering an inclusive and safe learning environment for all children and she is passionate about creating an environment that supports a child’s social-emotional development. Irmak brings creativity and compassion to her role as a teacher, which fosters a love for learning in the children in her care.
Outside of the classroom, Irmak finds joy in the company of her six cats and dog back home. She loves to bake, particularly chocolate chip cookies! Irmak thrives on exploring new destinations around the world and going on weekend trips. She also loves traveling to museums around New England. Irmak also enjoys exploring the city to discover the best bubble tea in Boston!
