Felicia Billy
Center Director
Felicia Billy is a self-motivated and positive Human Service professional, dedicated leader, student, and educator who creates an impactful early education experience through a culturally linguistic, family-centered approach that promotes growth and creativity and constructs a community of positive organizational culture, devoted participants, inspired employees and volunteers, and motivated donors. She is an advocate for sustainable funding for quality Early Education.
Working in Early Education is Felicia’s passion, and she became aware of this very early in her life. Some of Felicia’s favorite dynamics of working in Early Childhood settings are the ability to make a mess, the joy created for children and teachers alike, seeing children develop and make connections, and exploring through creativity. She has worked in the field for over 25 years in various capacities and with a range of age groups. Felicia has worked as a Camp Counselor, an Afterschool Teacher, an Assistant Teacher, a Teacher, a Curriculum Coordinator, an Assistant Director, a Center Director, a multi-site Director Support, and an Executive Director.
After completing the Early Education major at her vocational high school, Felicia began her higher education journey, studying Early Education at Winston Salem State University, then Graduating Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s from Springfield College in Human Services, concentrating in Early Education. She then completed her Master of Early Education at UMass Boston and she will begin her PhD in Early Childhood Education and Care: Leadership, Policy, and Finance in September 2024, also at UMass Boston. Felicia joined the Strategies for Children’s Advocacy Network in the Fall of 2021. She enthusiastically joined the Board of Directors for Strategies for Children in May of 2024.
In her spare time, Felicia enjoys reading, traveling, cooking, exploring the arts, and spending time with family and friends. She is committed to welcoming, fostering, and strengthening teacher/parent relationships and partnering with families and the community to create positive outcomes for our youngest learners.
