Debra Noe

Preschool Lead Teacher

Debra grew up in Illinois and completed her Bachelor’s degree at The University of Chicago. She holds a Master’s degree in European Studies from Leibniz Universität and a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Erikson Institute. She has worked in Germany and the United States, both in public and private schools. Highlights of her time in Massachusetts include teaching in a forest-based program, as well as in a German language immersion school.

Debra was drawn to early childhood education because she believes it can be the foundation for positive social change. She remembers taking community clean-up walks with her preschool teachers, and consequently always strived to never become a “litter bug”. Debra believes in having courageous conversations with children and families to increase exposure to diverse perspectives, while carefully observing children to reflect and celebrate their interests and strengths.

Debra likes to bike to work and visit the birds at Hall’s Pond in Brookline. She also serves as a community volunteer doing foster care case reviews for the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families. When not teaching, Debra enjoys traveling, especially to Europe to visit her niece and nephews in Tbilisi, Georgia.
