Christy Reisig

Christy attended Boston University School of Education, where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. During her time as an undergraduate, Christy worked at the Children’s Center as an assistant teacher. She realized she wanted to continue her work with children in their earliest years, and pursued a career in early childhood education after graduation. 

Christy returned to BUCC as a Lead Teacher in 2013, and moved into the Assistant Director position in 2020. She has greatly enjoyed growing with the Children’s Center. 

Christy believes high quality child care should be available for all families. She was part of the first cohort in the Leadership, Advocacy, & Policy for Early-Childhood Wellbeing master’s program through BU Wheelock, which she completed in 2023. She hopes to advocate for children, families, and early educators at BU and beyond. 

She enjoys spending time outdoors, especially around water or forests. She also enjoys being cozy indoors, with a good book or board game. She is expecting her first child in November, and is excited to return to BUCC after her parental leave.
