Maxine Slattery

Toddler Teacher

Maxine (she/her) grew up in San Diego, California. She moved to Massachusetts in 2018 to attend Boston University, majoring in Biology and minoring in Innovation and Entrepreneurship. After graduation, she went on to obtain her master’s in Biomedical Forensic Sciences from Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine.

Maxine started working as an Assistant Teacher at BUCC her senior year of undergrad and continued working during graduate school. Through her time at BUCC, she has gained experience working with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. She loves helping children learn about the world around them and discover themselves through their experiences with their surroundings and with each other. She feels lucky to be able to learn from the children and from the inspiring teachers at BUCC.

Outside of the Center, Maxine is a gun violence prevention activist, likes watching Formula 1, spending time with her friends, and being on the Cape.
