Jay Sundar Rajan
Float Teacher
Jay was raised in New England and attended Clark University in Worcester to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Global Environmental Studies, Spanish, and Studio Art with a concentration in photography. After graduating in 2020, she wanted to do something productive and meaningful with her time, which led her to become a special needs Teaching Assistant at her local elementary school. During this experience, Jay discovered a passion for connecting and working with children through her experience in the arts. She formed solid relationships with her students using a combination of humor, patience, and fun, which allowed her to make a positive impact on their lives.
After entering the Early Childhood space in 2021 to learn and grow as a Toddler Educator, Jay was stunned to see how Toddlers develop, grow, and play a vital role in shaping the environment around them. Throughout her time in the classroom in Massachusetts and Florida, Jay was a strong advocate of social-emotional learning, risk-taking, and allowing toddlers to make creative and unique mistakes and experiences throughout their growth journey. Through various moments, like first steps, words, and memories, Jay feels enormous gratitude that she is a part of these key developmental moments in children’s lives.
When Jay is not in the classroom, she spends her time exploring the city of Boston and its surroundings, taking pictures, and caring for her collection of houseplants. She enjoys experimenting with different types of tea and loves to cook and try out new recipes.
