Join us for a conversation with Dr. Sanaa Alimia about her recently published book, Refugee Cities: How Afghans Changed Urban Pakistan. During this talk, she will share her knowledge about the Afghan refugee crisis. Dr. Sanaa Alimia is a political scientist with a PhD from SOAS, London and an MSc from the London School of Economics and Political Science. She is currently an assistant professor at the Aga Khan University, Institute for the Study of Muslim Civilisations (AKU-ISMC). Dr. Alimia is a former Research Fellow at the Leibniz Zentrum Moderner Orient, Berlin and a recipient of the COFUND Dahlem Research Award, at the Free University of Berlin. She was a Visiting Assistant Professor at the Department of Political Science, University of Peshawar and a Senior Teaching Fellow at the Department of Politics and International Studies, SOAS. Her research focuses on Pakistan, Afghanistan, geopolitics, surveillance, migration and cities. Lunch will be provided.
