Human Environments and Climates
Climate change and environmental degradation have a strong impact on people’s decision to move and are one of the main causes of forced displacement globally. Countries struggling with poverty and conflict are the most affected by these changes. Individuals as well as entire communities are forced to relocate within their own countries or seek refuge across national borders. Our Center seeks to explore the intersection of human environments and climates and forced displacement through interdisciplinary research and engagement. Through partnerships with other institutions, individual researchers and practitioners, seed grants, and fellowships, we seek to engage in and support research on a broad range of topics related to climate, environment, and forced displacement.
