CELOP Bridge to BU Program
We are excited to welcome you to CELOP at Boston University!
After a careful review of your application, the Board of Admissions has offered you conditional admission to Boston University for the January 2026 semester. The Board of Admissions recognizes your strong academic performance but feels that you would benefit from further study of the English language at the university’s Center for English Language and Orientation Programs (CELOP). The CELOP Bridge to BU program is only available to those students who have received an official conditional admission offer by the Board of Admissions at Boston University.
CELOP helps you succeed in your degree program through instruction and advising provided in the CELOP Bridge to BU program.

Program Overview
The program takes place during Boston University’s Fall 2025 semester.
During the mandatory 4-Week Pre-Arrival Online Orientation Course, you will be led through a series of modules to orient you to the American classroom and academic culture. Language activities within the modules will assist CELOP faculty to identify and assess what additional support you will need during the 12 Week on-campus program. The modules will also familiarize you with BU’s expectations for academic integrity and what it means to join a learning community. The expected time commitment for the course is approximately three hours per week, and participation will be evaluated on a satisfactory/unsatisfactory scale. Those who receive an unsatisfactory evaluation will be required to complete additional work during the 12-week on-campus program.
During the 12 Week on-campus program, you will take twenty-five hours of face-to-face instruction per week. Courses will be focused on English for Academic Purposes and successful integration into Boston University.
