I am a Master’s Degree student focusing on the relationship between environment, brain development and functioning, and behavior. Before coming to BU, I spent many years in rural Mississippi and Arkansas teaching, coaching teachers, and managing the coaches of teachers. These experiences led me to wonder why some thrive in high-challenge, high-stress environments, while others fare more poorly. The BEE lab is an exciting opportunity to research how one’s environment influences brain development and functioning, and how negative impacts might be counteracted. Off-campus, I can be found running, reading, and whenever possible, kayaking and skiing.
