John Stomberg (GRS’99), a doctorate graduate in the History of Art & Architecture Department, is currently the Virginia Rice Kelsey 1961 Director of the Hood Museum of Art at Dartmouth College. Since his appointment, he has overseen the successful renovation and expansion of the Hood Museum. The space, which has been described as a “national model” for college and university museums, reopened in January 2019 with fanfare and a new look and feel. In a recent interview with PBS, Stomberg talked about changing up the museum experience and finding exciting ways to highlight modern artists.
