Tracking Your Application
We welcome your application to the Graduate School of Arts & Sciences! The application, application fee, and supporting materials must be received in the GRS Admissions Office by the application deadline for your program of interest. Please note that all supporting documents should be submitted online through the application portal. Please do not send additional paper copies of any materials submitted online to the Graduate Admissions Office. Below you will find a checklist of application items for your reference.

Uploaded Transcripts. On the application, upload an unofficial copy of your transcript for each institution you have attended. Do not email or mail official transcripts directly to our office. You will be required to submit official transcripts only if you are admitted and accept our offer of admission.
If your transcript or academic records are in a foreign language, you will need to provide a certified English translation of each document. This can be provided directly from your home institution; however, if your home institution does not provide an English translation of your academic records, a third-party translation will be required. |

Official letters of recommendation. Most departments ask for three letters; check your department’s requirements at Application Requirements and Deadlines. Recommendations should be submitted through the online recommendation system. Photocopies and other facsimiles, such as scanned/emailed or faxed documents will not be considered official. |

Official GRE General scores (if applicable) , sent by ETS to institution code 3087.
Some departments may also require the Subject Test; contact your department for details. |

Personal Statement |

Writing Sample. A writing sample is required by some but not all departments. Check your department’s requirements at Application Requirements and Deadlines. |

Resume or CV (highly recommended, not required) |

Proof of English proficiency. Accepted standardized tests include the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), TOEFL iBT Home Edition, International English Language Testing System (IELTS), Cambridge English Qualifications, and Duolingo. Please note the TOEFL ITP exam will not be accepted as proof of English proficiency.
