The Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies officially opened at the beginning of the Fall 2014 semester. The school, which was made possible by a $25 million endowment from Frederick S. Pardee (SMG’54, GSM’54, Hon.’06), is now located at 121 Bay State Road and is housed by CAS. With two divisions, five majors, and 16 degrees, the Pardee School brings together faculty from across the University to support interdisciplinary research aimed at the advancing global human progress and educating the next generation of leaders who will address these issues. Adil Najam, the school’s inaugural dean, says the school represents BU’s long history of global studies, as well as its global character, but at the same time it “consciously reflects the reality of the 21st century globe.” Read more
