BU Takes Center Stage at Symphony Hall
Soloists Avuya Ngcaweni (CFA’26) (from left), Lindsey Weissman (CFA’27), Heming Cao (CFA’27), and Nathan Savant (CFA’25) perform Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 in D Minor, Op. 125, with the Boston University Symphony Orchestra and Symphonic Chorus, April 13, at Symphony Hall. The piece was conducted by Sarah Ioannides (center, back to camera), director of orchestral studies and College of Fine Arts associate professor of orchestral conducting. The School of Music’s annual appearance at Symphony Hall also included a performance of Coincident Dances by Jessie Montgomery, featuring BU’s Wind Ensemble and conducted by Joshua Roach, CFA assistant professor of music, and a performance of Symphony of Psalms by Igor Stravinsky, featuring the Symphonic Chorus and members of the Wind Ensemble and Symphony Orchestra, and conducted by Daniel Parsley, CFA director of choral activities and coordinator of conducting.
