This talk highlights multi-disciplinary care of persons with concussion at Boston University’s Ryan Center for Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation. The Ryan Center houses physicians specializing in family medicine, sports medicine, and [...]orthopedics, as well as the Boston University Physical Therapy Center, Athletic Training services, and the Sargent Choice Nutrition Center. The panel highlights each discipline’s approach to care of persons with concussion and the full recovery of these patients. Cases studies demonstrate the clinical pathway patients encounter and highlights acute management, chronic presentations, and the intricacies involved.

Description: Three Rehabilitation Sciences PhD students discuss how their areas of scholarly interest could lead to advances in clinical outcomes among adults with chronic musculoskeletal conditions such as arthritis. Presenters discuss their line of scholarship (physical activity adherence among adults with knee osteoarthritis; work participation outcome measurement development and intervention research; and the environment-participation/physical activity links). The panel of students also shares opportunities they’ve had during their PhD studies at Sargent College.
