My research focuses on the early life history and population dynamics of tropical Pacific tunas in the Phoenix Islands Protected Area, a large no-take MPA. Specifically, I’m interested in using zooplankton samples to study the larval ecology and genetic structure of tuna, and incorporating modeling techniques to assess spatiotemporal trends in Pacific tuna populations in the context of climate change and high commercial fishing pressure.
