Sabrina Germain (COM'30) creates blackout poetry—erasing words to create a new poem—at a crafternoon event sponsored by BU Libraries, BU Office for the Arts, and the BU Creative Writing Program on September 9. The event celebrated the late poet and activist Nikki Giovanni, who will be honored at Poetry Is the Culture of a People: A Celebration of Nikki Giovanni, marking the public opening of her papers, on Thursday. The event will include a screening of a new documentary film and a poetry reading.
