Under cloudy skies that threatened rain and warm, humid temperatures, an estimated 20,000 family and friends on Nickerson Field cheered for the Class of 2018 during BU’s 145th All-University Commencement Sunday, May 20, 2018. The 7,072 graduating students and guests listened to US Congressman John Lewis (D-Ga.), a leader of the nation’s Civil Rights Movement, deliver the main address and watched as the University awarded five honorary degrees and this year’s Metcalf Cup and Prize and Metcalf Awards for Excellence in Teaching.
