Nearly 25,000 people filed onto Nickerson Field on Sunday, May 17, for Boston University’s 142nd Commencement and to celebrate the Class of 2015. Under partly sunny skies and seasonal temperatures, they listened as Emmy-winning broadcast journalist and talk show host Meredith Vieira (Hon.’15) delivered the main address, looked on as the University conferred honorary degrees and its top teaching prizes, and cheered as approximately 5,000 of this year’s estimated 6,611 seniors and graduate students tossed their caps in the air.
