As the year 2025 ends, BUCSA remembers with appreciation and sadness our dear colleague Professor Joseph Fewsmith, who passed away unexpectedly on November 6. Joe was instrumental in the establishment and growth of Asian studies at Boston University as well as an important scholar and beloved teacher and mentor to generations of students. We miss him dearly but his legacy lives on in the lives and careers of his colleagues and students.
