There are 14 comments on Get Ready for BU’s Biggest Matriculation Ceremony Yet

  1. Super excited for this amazing ceremony – as proud parent of our first Terrier in family we’ll join virtually from India wherever possible. Have a great matriculation!

    1. John, hi! My name is Danielle Staub and I work in the Dean of Students office at BU. We are welcoming any member of the Class of 2024 who wants to walk in Matriculation. The Dean of Students office is also planning special events – just for the Class of 2024! Stay tuned. You may also reach out to dos@bu.edu with any additional questions. Thank you!

      1. Many thanks Danielle. 2024 feels a bit like the forgotten class, and in some ways although sophomores now, much of the BU experience is still new to them.

        1. Agreed, John. I’m part of the Class of 2024 and I really appreciate you bringing us up and sharing this with others via your comment. Not sure about others, but many people I know (myself included) did not get much of a high school graduation ceremony either.

        2. Not sure if information is getting out to the sophomores about what is going on and what is available to them. My daughter was shocked to see the herd of people walking down Commonwealth for matriculation, so she definitely didn’t know she was allowed to walk in it.

Where can I find a calendar of the planned sophomore events?

      2. As a parent of a sophomore, sadly, this article brought up all that the class of 2024 missed. Unfortunately, we can’t bring back those special moments. Danielle, I’d like to suggest Dean Elmore start planning now for an extra extraordinary graduation in 2024. This class deserves it!!

    1. Joan, hello! My name is Danielle Staub and I work in the Dean of Students office at BU. The event is not open to Spring 2022 starters. Students participating in Matriculation will have fulfilled BU’s COVID-19 safety requirements prior to their arrival on campus. Feel free to reach out to dos@bu.edu about t-shirts, face masks, or any addtional questions. Thank you!

  2. This is going to be fantastic. We would have loved to be there in person as proud parents of a new Terrier, but we will be joining virtually from Atlanta , Georgia.

  3. Following Matriculation

The annual Terrier Tailgate on Nickerson Field will immediately follow the Matriculation ceremony, at 3 pm. All members of the BU community are invited to attend in addition to the Class of 2025 and their friends and family. Expect food, games, swag, and more.

AND… NO MASKS REQUIRED FOR ALL OUTDOOR EVENTS!!!

Excited about outdoor event.. 79 degrees.. perfect weather day!!!
