BU Today Is Looking for Writing Interns for General Assignments
Seeking experienced writers for spring 2022 semester who can make a year-long commitment, with Friday, December 3, application deadline
Students, if you are an experienced writer, BU Today would like to hear from you.
We have openings for general assignment writing interns for the spring 2022 semester. Candidates should have strong writing skills and previous journalism experience (published clips are required). The paid internship will begin in January and run through mid-May.
Interested candidates should be prepared to make at least a yearlong commitment (and be able to work fall 2022 and spring 2023, as well) and work 10 to 12 hours a week. Preference will be given to freshmen, sophomores, and juniors.
Responsibilities include pitching and writing stories about student life, as well as writing our weekly “Weekender” series and updating our “Neighborhood” series. Other tasks include helping staff writers with background research, transcribing audio, closed-captioning videos, and assisting with breaking news stories.
The deadline for applying for the internships is this Friday, December 3.
For more information about the position (including salary), visit the jobs board at the BU Student Link. To apply for the general assignment writing internship, send your résumé, writing clips from published pieces, and references to Taylor Mendoza at tmendoza@bu.edu.
