    1. I said goodbye to my niece, Brianne Garrett. I’m her second mother, but I felt like I gave up my first born. Happy and sad all at the same time. I know she’s pursuing her dreams, but she always be my little “Bri Bri”!

  1. I’m in tears…. :(….. This is exactly what it’s like when you drop off your son or daughter on their first day, and I remember it was like that for me when I went to college.

  2. 8 years ago, our daughter began her BU studies. This new phase of her life, and the empty-nesting, greatly challenged me. My heart ached her first night, as she called in tears about the 4 bed dorm and where could she put her stuff. I could not bring myself to change her room at home as she left it, bed unmade, for a long time. She conquered all tho, 2010 COM grad. So many passages for all of us! She never left Boston, and now a Boston director for a nationwide non profit organization. BU prepared her well. She loves Boston; she has truly bloomed where she was planted. Still miss her, so many miles from home, but there she is happy, productive, and successful. Never seen her happier. Bittersweet.
