With the new semester, BU has resumed its campaign against alcohol abuse, bolstering police patrols of known party neighborhoods, citing students for public intoxication, dispersing loud parties—and crucially, publicizing statistics on booze-control efforts by University, Boston, and Brookline police.

  1. wow. I’m glad y’all are publicizing the stats more now, so it is more obvious when, for example, the “noise complaints” that every single party on a street receives at the same time on the same night is a made-up story, or, a true story for one location applied to many locations for which it is untrue. I know that there are many more parties broken up by police than are above reported; I assume it is this enforcement mechanism that is responsible for the discrepancy in numbers.
