YouSpeak: Hooray for Hollywood!
Who gets your votes for this year’s Oscars?
It’s that time of year again: next Sunday night the film industry hands out its biggest prize—the Academy Award. This year’s nominees for best picture include a story about a king with a debilitating stutter; a ballerina going crazy; a man forced to cut off his own arm; a scrappy boxer and his even scrappier family; and the brilliant, some would say wily, founder of Facebook, who, incidently, gets dumped by his BU girlfriend. Then there’s the story of a girl in the Ozarks searching for her father; the remake of a 42-year-old Hollywood western; Leo DiCaprio’s latest; a story about a lesbian couple whose kids are “all right”; and the animated Toy Story 3. Whew!
So this week’s “YouSpeak” asks: “Who gets your votes for this year’s Oscars?”
