A Taste of BU Academy
Annual BUA benefit brings in $60,000

BU Academy, a high school for talented, motivated students located on the BU campus, raised $60,000 recently at its 11th annual financial aid fundraiser, A Taste of BUA, held at the 808 Gallery.
Founded in 1993, BU Academy has around 150 students. Tuition is about $30,000, and financial aid to individual students averages about $17,000.
The money raised at the April 23 event is the highest amount in BU Academy fundraising history, says BU public relations associate Lauren Domingos.
Billy Costa, from the NECN show TV Diner and KISS108 radio, hosted the event, which was attended by academy families, members of the BU community, and the general public. Fifteen local restaurants provided sampled-sized portions of dishes they are noted for. Participants included Eastern Standard, in Kenmore Square, Crispy Crepe Café, and BU’s Catering on the Charles.
