BU Alert System
E-mail, phone test scheduled for this morning

Boston University will test the BU Alert System at approximately 10:40 a.m. today, October 27, sending automated e-mails and telephone calls to more than 48,000 students, faculty, and staff. The BU Alert System is the University’s first-line warning system, intended for use in situations that put the BU community at risk.
Stephen Morash, director of the University’s emergency response planning, says today’s test is important because it will be the first alert sent to freshmen and new transfer students. In addition to familiarizing new students with the alert messages, Morash says the test will help his staff validate some recent improvements to the system.
