Thomas Van Dyke, director of the Goldman School of Dental Medicine’s Clinical Research Center, is now a charter member of the Oral, Dental, and Craniofacial Sciences (ODCS) study section at the National Institutes of Health’s Center for Scientific Review.

The ODCS study section is the center’s peer review board for grant applications to study the development, biology, pathology, and repair of oral, dental, and craniofacial tissues. Like Van Dyke, members of the review board are experts in their fields and principal investigators of dental-related studies, among other qualifications.

SDM’s Clinical Research Center conducts research in a variety of areas, including dental materials, implantology, periodontology, and radiology. The center also conducts product trials.

Van Dyke, an SDM professor of periodontology and oral biology, will hold the position on the ODCS study section for four years, attending three meetings each year.
