New Director of Communications at SDM
Mary Becotte joins SDM as director of communications.
Mary Becotte joined the Goldman School of Dental Medicine on July 2 as the new director of communications. Previously, she was the executive director of college relations at Massachusetts Bay Community College, where she worked in communications and community affairs.
“I was looking for some new challenges and new opportunities,” Becotte says. At the dental school, she will be responsible for communication outreach, media relations, and institutional marketing. Her jobs include working with Impressions, SDM’s alumni magazine, and soliciting input from stakeholders.
In her first weeks at BU, Becotte has been learning as much as possible about SDM. She has found that reviewing the school’s annual report is a great way to do that. She is also looking forward to redesigning the school’s Web site in the coming weeks. She hopes to make the information on the site more accurate and more accessible.
“The mission and vision of BUSDM really resonate with my commitment to higher education and community service,” she says. “It seemed like a really great fit.”
