Hello My Name Is

Name: Chris Gatti
From: Cumming, Georgia
School you’re enrolled in at BU:
CAS
Major: Computer science

What convinced you to come to BU?
The biggest deciding factor for me was the fact that I absolutely love Boston and really wanted to be in the city. I’m really looking forward to living there.

What makes you feel most excited about coming to college?
Coming from a school with a graduating class of only 38 students, I am excited about being in a large school. It’s also exciting to finally be able to study what I enjoy, instead of what I have to in order to graduate.

What makes you feel most nervous about coming to college?
I think that like most kids, I’m nervous about getting a roommate that I don’t get along with. And I’m a little bit nervous about classes and the college workload in general.

What kinds of activities do you want to become involved in?

I’ve been playing tennis for about 10 years, so I would really like to continue playing, even if it’s just for fun. I’m also open to trying new things, so hopefully I’ll be able to stay pretty involved with the numerous activities BU offers.

What is one of the goals of your first year at BU?

My first goal is just to get involved so that I can meet some new people and make a new group of friends. Other than that, I’m hoping to make decent grades while still being able to have fun and enjoy the city.

What accomplishment are you most proud of?

I’m quite proud of my last year of high school because I was able to have a year with lots of fun and excitement, but still kept my grades up and got into great schools, such as BU. While there were definitely moments of slacking here and there, I’m proud that I was able to keep myself focused and finish with a bang, so to speak.

What will be your first stop when you start exploring Boston?

Luckily, I’ve already had the opportunity to explore Boston a good bit over the past few years, but I am still looking forward to going to see the Red Sox play. Even though I’ve been there numerous times, Fenway Park never gets old and is always a blast.

How are you spending your summer vacation?
My summer vacation isn’t too eventful this year, but it should still be fun. There are two highlights: going on a senior cruise with some of my best friends, and then heading up to Boston for orientation. The rest of my summer will be filled with lots of relaxing with my friends, and lots of crazy days out on the lake.
