MED Prof Named Editor of Endocrinology Journal
MED’s Lewis Braverman has become editor-in-chief of the journal Endocrine Practice.
Lewis Braverman, a professor of medicine at the School of Medicine and an endocrinologist in the endocrinology, diabetes, and nutrition section at Boston Medical Center, was recently chosen as editor-in-chief of Endocrine Practice, the journal of the American College of Endocrinology and the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists. He will serve a five-year term.
Braverman is editor-in-chief of Current Opinion in Endocrinology and Diabetes and is editor and coeditor of two leading thyroid textbooks.
The recipient of many national and international awards, Braverman received the Endocrine Society’s Robert H. Williams Distinguished Leadership Award in 2007 in recognition of exceptional contributions and achievements in endocrinology.
Braverman earned an undergraduate degree in biology from Harvard University and a medical degree from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. He completed his internal medicine residency and endocrinology fellowship at Boston City Hospital, now Boston Medical Center. His research and clinical interests focus on the physiology and pathophysiology of the thyroid.
