The son of a censured Roman Catholic Boston priest talks about faith and love

WBUR, Boston University’s award-winning National Public Radio station, broadcasts a talk by author Peter Manseau. Titled "Memoir As Midrash," Manseau’s talk was sponsored by the Luce Program in Scripture and Literary Arts in cooperation with The Institute for Philosophy and Religion at Boston University.

Peter Manseau’s newest book, Vows: The Story of a Priest, a Nun, and Their Son, tells the story of his family’s struggle to reconcile the obligations of faith and the necessity of love. Manseau’s father, a censured priest of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Boston, has refused for decades to resign his ordination to the priesthood, despite his marriage and three children.
