Adam Stone, the Cantab Lounge’s four-time Champion of Champions of slam poetry , will be at BU Central this week as part of the Favorite Poem Project. Stone is the 1998 New England Forensic Interpreter of Poetry Champ, the 2000 Vermont Cover Slam Champion, and the 2000 National Dead Poets Slam winner. He performs at venues around Boston and Cambridge, including the Cantab Lounge and the Lizard Lounge.

The Favorite Poem Project, founded by Robert Pinsky, a College of Arts and Sciences professor, when he was U.S. poet laureate, encourages people to explore the power of poetry through reading it aloud. All students, faculty, and staff are invited to read their favorite poems at the Favorite Poem Project reading, cosponsored by BU Today and Speak for Yourself.

The Favorite Poem Project reading will be held on Thursday, November 16, at 8 p.m. in BU Central. All BU Central events are free with a BU ID. For more information on the Favorite Poem Project, e-mail jullian@bu.edu.
