Making a connection in the classroom
Mali Bjorgum (SED’06) won a practicum this semester at a Cambridge public school with a BU alum now teaching kindergarten.
Mali Bjorgum (SED’06) is doing a practicum this spring under the supervision of Christina Ryan (CAS’99, SED’01), an alumna who teaches kindergarten at the Cambridgeport School in Cambridge.
Bjorgum is a teaching assistant in Ryan’s class. Two mornings a week, she works with the kindergartners, helping them complete assignments and other tasks.
“I just love working with the children,” says Bjorgum, who worked in a preschool prior to her experience at the Cambridgeport School. “This is my first time working with this age group . . . it’s fun to work with children learning to read and write.”
