The Huntington honors a great playwright's last work

Radio Golf, the final play of Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winner August Wilson (Hon.’96), was the first play of the Huntington Theatre Company’s new season, which began September 8 at the Boston University Theatre. Set in the Hill District of Pittsburgh, Radio Golf is the last work of the late playwright’s 10-play cycle chronicling the African-American experience in the 20th century. As has been the case with many of Wilson’s plays, Radio Golf was produced by the Huntington before appearing on Broadway. Wilson enjoyed a special relationship with the Huntington, where he often participated in rehearsals and production. He regarded the Boston University Theatre as his home on the theater circuit. Wilson passed away on October 2, 2005.
August Wilson‘s play Two Trains Running is showing at the Peter Norton Space in New York City until January 14.
