Steve MacHardy wins Goldman School’s first McCarthy Scholarship
Steve MacHardy (SDM'07) receives Goldman School's first McCarthy Memorial Scholarship.

The Goldman School of Dental Medicine announced recently that Steve MacHardy (SDM’07) is the first recipient of the school’s McCarthy Memorial Scholarship.
The award is named for Paul McCarthy (SDM’06), who was killed in an automobile accident after his first year at the Goldman School in 2003. The scholarship will be given annually to a deserving SDM student demonstrating academic merit and financial need. It is funded jointly by the McCarthy family and SDM.
“Paul McCarthy was a very fine young man,” says Dean Spencer N. Frankl. “His death was a great loss to all of us at SDM.”
Says MacHardy, a London, Ontario native: “It’s very generous of the family to set up a scholarship in Paul’s name. This is really quite an honor.”
