About

Kendra’s research focuses on the political and social repercussions of Syrian forced migration into Turkey. More specifically, she is interested in refugee and forced migrant reconstruction of identities and livelihoods and how this affects digital migratory patterns within Turkey. The expression of these identities lead to further observations in immaterial spaces of citizenship, the sociology of sovereignty and Turkish and Syrian relations within Turkey’s urban areas.

Kendra holds a B.A. (Honors) in Anthropology from Hunter College where she was a Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellow. During her undergraduate years she conducted anthropological research utilizing social media, documentaries, and human migration data of Syrian migrant youth in Istanbul.
