Ana Díaz Asencio

Ana Díaz Asencio (she/her) is a first-year student at Boston University’s College of Fine Arts where she is pursuing the degree of Doctor of Musical Arts. Born in Sevilla (Spain), Ana focuses her career on classical-contemporary saxophone performance and has specialized her research in the late 20th century music history, specifically in the Darmstadt School. She completed her Master of Music at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee and has also conducted some community ensembles in Boston. In her free time, Ana likes reading Spanish and English literature and her favorite sport is running.

Michela Gerardin

Michela (she/her) is a second year PhD student in the English department studying twentieth century modernist poetics and philosophy. In her free time, she enjoys drawing, learning languages, and going thrifting!

Analiese Gobel

Analiese Gobel (she/her) is a first-year MPHc pursuing a degree in Global Health Program Implementation, Evaluation, and Design with a Certificate in Child Maternal Health. Her Bachelor’s Degree of Public Health and Nutrition has equipped her with the tools to confidently integrate biostatistical codings and epidemiology into her written literature. She is originally from Seattle, WA and enjoys spending time with friends, trying new hobbies, and running outside in the warmer months.

Hunter Hobbs

Hunter Hobbs (he/him) has an MFA in poetry from the University of North Carolina Wilmington, as well as a Master’s of Theological Studies from Boston University.

He collects sea glass and parking tickets. In his lifetime he has eaten over 2.6 million maraschino cherries, and is over six feet tall.

Hunter’s Writing Advice: Let the sources do the work. Have more sources than you need. Pull from those sources to create a quote garden. Take quotes from your quote garden and make an outline. Then write! 

Olivia Kulczycky

Olivia Kulczycky (she/her) is a second-year PhD student in the BU English Department studying modernist literature, avant-garde performance, and post-structural philosophy. Outside of her work as an ERC Writing Fellow, Olivia enjoys reading, shopping for records, and birdwatching.

Hannah Mefferd (She/Her) is getting her masters degree in international affairs with a specialization in diplomacy.

Sabrina Mellinghoff

Sabrina Mellinghoff (she/her) is a first year medical student at BU’s Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. She studied the humanities at Yale College, earning dual degrees in German Literature and the History of Science and Medicine. In her free time, Sabrina loves to bike around Boston, try new coffee shops, and read murder mysteries. She is very excited to be working with the ERC this fall!

Eleanor Oser

Eleanor (she/they) is a third-year PhD student in the Philosophy Department. They enjoy the Pacific Northwest, taking long walks, and rosemary salt bagels — not necessarily in that order.

Trissha Sivalingam

Trissha (she/her) is a first-year MA student of Religion and International Affairs. She is originally from Memphis, TN, and completed her undergrad at Northeastern University. She has experience writing intensive qualitative research, academic papers, program applications, as well as grant and research proposals!
