Changing a Specialization or Adding a Minor
University Policy
Wheelock College of Education & Human Development Policy
Undergraduate Students
Students enter Wheelock College of Education & Human Development with a declared major. When students wish to declare their specialization at the end of their sophomore year or add a minor, they should plan to meet with their advisor or a specialist in Student Services to discuss the process and impact of this change. Students are then required to submit the Undergraduate Specialization Declaration Form or an Application for a Minor Form. Please contact Wheelock Data & Enrollment Management with any questions.
Graduate Students
Graduate students who wish to apply to change programs prior to matriculation must contact Wheelock College Graduate Admissions. Generally, students will be asked to submit any materials required for application to the new intended program. The Program Director of the new, intended program, in consultation with program faculty, will make the final decision on whether a student is admissible to the program the student wishes to enter. Current graduate students who wish to change their program of study should speak with their advisor and submit a Graduate Program Change Request Form to Data & Enrollment Management for processing.
