An historical overview of diverse theories of psychotherapy and derivative techniques will be examined with an emphasis on applications to diagnosis, and developmental counseling philosophy and practice. Topics include the relationships among society, family, and individual in the definition and development of the healthy personality and abnormal intellectual, social, and emotional learning and development. Permission of the instructor. 4 cr.
