Undergraduate
Undergraduate students are expected to be enrolled on a full-time basis. To be considered a full-time undergraduate degree candidate, a student must be registered in a minimum of 12 units. Students are expected to proceed at the rate of 16–18 units per term.
Students will be assessed a tuition fee for any units beyond 18, in any given term. Students who wish to request a tuition waiver must complete a Course Overload Authorization form after registration. A waiver will be granted as follows:
- Freshmen: Due to the intensity of the first-year core program in CFA, freshmen must have a minimum GPA of 3.3, and advisor approval, for the fee waiver to be granted (up to 20 units), for the spring term. No fee waivers will be granted for the first term of the freshman year.
- Sophomores, Juniors: A minimum GPA of 3.0, and advisor approval, is required for the fee waiver to be granted (up to 20 units).
- Seniors: Seniors will automatically be able to overload (up to 20 units). They are not required to complete an Overload Authorization form.
- All students: Tuition waiver requests will be reviewed at the conclusion of the current term.
Enrollment in fewer than 12 units in any term requires advance approval for part-time status from the CFA Registrar.
Graduate
Due to the reduced tuition rate for CFA graduate students, tuition fee waiver requests are not permitted.
