There are 6 comments on CFA Presents Britten’s War Requiem

  1. I am singing with the BU symphonic chorus in tonight’s performance of the Britten War Requiem. Your article obscures the fact that Scott Allen Jarrett is actually conducting the BU symphony orchestra and symphonic chorus tonight while David Hoose conducts the chamber orchestra.

  2. I’m fortunate to say that I heard the American premiere of this work back in July of 1963 then later when Erich Leinsdorf brought it to Symphony Hall that fall. Mr. Leinsdorf took all his forces to New York! Back then there was no Tanglewood Festival Chorus but the Chorus Pro Musica under the direction of Alfred Nash Patterson. Mr. Leinsdorf interpretation is ONE of the BEST around of so many recordings of this work. Even the British critics praised his interpretation.
