Planning for Remote Field Placements

BUSSW STUDENT UPDATE FROM MARCH 11, 2020

On behalf of the Field Education Department, I would like to inform you of preparations we are making for potential disruptions in field education for those students who are currently in placement. We have developed a plan of action, which has been shared with all Advisors, Field Coordinators, Directors and Field Instructors, that addresses the need for students to potentially complete their field education requirements remotely during this Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak — whether it is agency or student-initiated. The plan is mindful of the various sites students are placed in, as well as the many unknowns that students and sites are encountering.

We are asking that students follow all the safety protocols recommended by their placement agency and notify their field instructor and their BUSSW Advisor if they are asked to work remotely or are personally requesting to work remotely. Thank you.
