The interdepartmental graduate program in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology & Biochemistry (MCBB) offers both Ph.D. and M.A. degrees. Future molecular biomedical scientists will increasingly engage in interdisciplinary research. The MCBB Program is designed to fill this need:


The MCBB Program involves 48 faculty members from the Departments of
Biology, Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering, Physics, and Health Sciences .

  • The MCBB Program Curriculum is designed to provide a solid foundation in these interrelated disciplines through coursework and research.
  • The MCBB Program prepares students for research and teaching positions in academia, industry, or government.

Faculty:

President Robert A. Brown has appointed Professor James J. Collins as one of two inaugural William Fairfield Warren Distinguished Professors at Boston University.

Dr. Tom Gilmore received the 2009 Metcalf Cup and Prize for teaching excellence.

Dr. Cynthia Bradham's research was featured on the April 2009 cover of the Developmental Biology. The paper tests the role of Chordin in axial and neural specification during sea urchin developmen
