Connect to SciFinder Web [Requires a SciFinder Account]

You may recieve a warning from your browser about an invalid security certificate.  Bypass the warning (select "Continue to this website" or "Create an exception") to proceed to the SciFinder site.  Explanation and instructions for specific browsers.

You will be asked to enter your BU username and Kerberos password, and then your SciFinder username and password. Only five BU users may access SciFinder at the same time, so you may need to wait if the system is at capacity.

SciFinder Scholar provides access to the complete Chemical Abstracts database, indexing articles from journals and other publications; national and international patents; and data for substances and reactions.  More about SciFinder Scholar.

First Time Users or SciFinder Client Users

First time users need to create a SciFinder Account to use the web version of SciFinder. Although SciFinder Web is the preferred method for accessing SciFinder, it can also be accessed using the SciFinder client, a program which must be downloaded and installed on your PC or Mac.
