David is the Program Manager & Administrator of the Initiative on Cities at Boston University. In this role, he coordinates and executes core IOC programs and manages its student staff. David coordinates the IOC’s urban government student fellowships, manages the research seed grant fund, and provides administrative support to the team. Additionally, he manages the IOC’s events and works to raise the profile of the Initiative through strategic marketing.
Prior to joining the IOC, David worked as a Senior Program Coordinator for Clinical & Experiential Programs at Boston University School of Law, where he provided critical administrative support for the BU/MIT Entrepreneurship, Intellectual Property, and Cyberlaw Program during a period of significant expansion. David has also held internships and worked with a variety of social impact organizations including the Main South Community Development Corporation in Worcester, MA.
David holds a Master of Arts in International Affairs from American University and a Master of Arts in Natural Resources and Sustainable Development from the University for Peace in Costa Rica. While pursuing those degrees, he worked with a team in the Middle East studying environmental peacebuilding and provided recommendations to Israeli and Palestinian partners on a collaborative food-water-energy nexus project. David also holds a master’s degree in Public Administration from Clark University, where he worked in teams to write strategic management and marketing plans for various community-based organizations, and received a Bachelor of Arts from Clark University. He grew up in Tampa, FL and is a fan of the Tampa Bay Lightning, as well as an avid hiker.
