Speaker biography:
Amanda Bailey is the Vice President for Human Resources at Boston University and recently served as the Vice President of Human Resources at Brown University. Prior to her appointment at Brown, Amanda was the Associate Vice President and Acting Chief of Staff at Morehouse College. As an HR practitioner with twenty six years of professional experience in human resources, Amanda has held senior human resources leadership positions over the past sixteen years in education. Amanda serves on the state of RI’s board for workforce planning and development, Skills for Rhode Island’s Future, is a national board member of Colleges and Universities’ Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR), and a board member of the American Research Universities’ Human Resources’ Institute. Amanda has been a panel member since 2013 to assess human resources operations within the largest K-12 school districts represented by the Council of Great City Schools in Washington DC and is an advisory board member to the Anne Frank Center for Mutual Respect in New York.
Amanda has participated in several presentations and conducted interviews that highlight best practices for HR leaders in higher education and was recently recognized for innovative human resources practices in Profile magazine.
Amanda earned a master’s degree in both human resources management & labor relations from the University of Rhode Island with a bachelor’s degree from Florida Atlantic University and is a certified labor relations professional.
