Enjoy the convenience of a MicroFridge—a combination microwave, refrigerator, and freezer—delivered to your room at the start of the semester and picked up at the end of the year, all at no extra cost. Order at least three weeks before move-in to have it waiting in your room when you arrive. If you change rooms during the year, we will move it to your new on-campus location for free.
MicroFridge is the only microwave allowed in BU’s dormitory-style residences. We do not deliver to apartments that already include a refrigerator.
How to Request your MicroFridge
Applications for both MicroFridge and electronic safe rentals are now in the My Housing Portal. Log in to the My Housing Portal and look for the “MicroFridge/Safe Rental” link in the top red ribbon.
Changed Your Room?
Email vending@bu.edu with your name, BU ID, and your old and new building and room numbers so we can update your delivery accordingly.

Service, Repairs, and Move-Out
Our appliances are reliable and well maintained, but if you experience an issue due to normal wear or defective parts, we offer repair services. To request a repair, please complete a Service Request form.
At the end of your rental, please clean out your MicroFridge and leave it in your room. Failure to properly clean the unit may incur a cleaning fee. We will pick up the MicroFridge after you move out.
