A Fashion First

Last semester BU’s Center for Career Development and the Newbury Center, which supports first-gen students, collaborated to create the Professional Clothing Closet so cash-strapped students could get free professional attire for interviews, networking events, career fairs, and the office. Their first fashion show was held November 16, with students modeling the donated items. “I have an internship right now, and it can be difficult to buy new professional clothing,” says Fiona Schicho (SSW’25), who was among those walking the runway. “So, I thought it was a really cool opportunity.” Photo by Andrew Burke-Stevenson (COM’26)
